In order to know and understand the nature of Jesus Christ, we need to first address who Jesus Christ is. Many when asked whom Jesus is, the answer that they give right away is that Jesus is the son of God. The statement is very true but it does not fully explain enough who Jesus really is. The issue is that we are all the children of God and yet we are definitely not God. So the relevant answer to the question of who Jesus is that while Jesus is the Son of God, He is also God the Son. In Hebrew, the name Jesus means â€Å"God Saves†. The Greek translation of the name Christ is from the Hebrew word â€Å"Messiah† which means â€Å"Anointed.† In the book of John 3:5, John says that this is the divine name which alone brings salvation. THE NATURE OF JESUS CHRIST The Church teaches that Jesus Christ is one person having two natures. We are told that Jesus has a Divine nature, as God; and a human nature as man. Jesus possesses the nature of God fully and the nature of man thus we can describe Him as the true God and a true man. The question is, how could this be possible? If he was God how could He put the power â€Å"in check† in order to be man? When He was man did He also retain His title as God?
